چکیده

Completely dissolved components of native prolamellar body/prim ary thylakoids PLB/PT were induced to reaggregate into tubular structures in vitro. Incubation of these pchlide con taining PLB-like tubules under red light with NADPH : pchlide oxidoreductase led to a specific association of the enzyme protein to the tubules. Photoconversion of the pigment initiates the dispersal of reaggregated PLB-tubules as indicated by changes in the content of their main constituent saponin.

Macromolecular Physiology of Plastids

Sequential changes occurring in the etioplasts of the primary leaf of 7-day-old dark-grown barley seedlings upon continuous illumination with 20 lux have been investigated by electron microscopy, in vivo spectrophotometry, and thin-layer chromatography. Following photoconversion of the protochlorophyllide pigment to chlorophyllide and the structural transformation of the crystalline prolamellar...

Macromolecular physiology of plastids. VI. Changes in membrane structure associated with shifts in the absorption maxima of the chlorophyllous pigments.

Dispersal of the prolamellar body tubules into primary lamellar layers has been studied in leaves of dark-grown bean seedlings (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Following complete photoconversion of protochlorophyllide the dispersal process can proceed in either light or darkness. The dispersal is reversibly inhibited in leaves at o °C. Above o °C the time course for the dispersal is temperature depende...

Red Light Induced Change in the Saponin Content of Prolamellar Bodies in A vena sativa

Etioplast, Protochlorophyllide, Prolamellar Body, Saponin, Red Light Exposure to red light of high intensities leads to saponin and prolamellar body degradation in etiolated Avena sativa seedlings. Exposure to red light of low intensities increases the saponin percentage found in prolamellar bodies without changing the overall saponin content. Proto chlorophyllide is assumed to act a decisive ...

A Comparison between Prolamellar Bodies and Prothylakoid Membranes of Etioplasts of Dark-Grown Wheat Concerning Lipid and Polypeptide Composition.

The aim of the present investigation was to find factors critical for the co-existence of prolamellar bodies and prothylakoids in etioplasts of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv Starke II). The lipid composition of the prolamellar body and prothylakoid fractions was qualitatively similar. However, the molar ratio of monogalactosyl diacylglycerol to digalactosyl diacylglycerol was higher in the pro...
